Geneva Motor Show 2006 with a focus on hybrid vehicles

At the Geneva Motor Show (2 – 12 March 2006) hybrid, electric, fuel cell, natural gas and ethanol vehicles will be shown on some 20 stands. With about a dozen vehicles, manly prototypes and concept cars, the hybrid cars are particularly numerous. A special guide showing these stands will be available at the official information desks and at the EcoCar.

The EcoCar stand (hall 5, number 5143) is, once again, dedicated to alternative drive-trains only. In cooperation with their partners the association e’mobile and gasmobil Ltd. will show four natural gas vehicles, the new Honda Civic Hybrid, the Toyota Prius II, the Twingo Elettrica and the new Panda Elettrica both by MES-DEA Ltd. and with Zebra batteries. These electric vehicles are available in limited numbers from MES-DEA manly in Switzerland and Italy.

A major attraction of the EcoCar stand is the PAC-Car II of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich. This innovative fuel cell vehicle with less than 30 kg of weight holds the world record with 5’385 km on the equivalent of one litre of petrol established in June 2005. The exhibition of this vehicle is sponsored by EOS, a major provider of electricity in Switzerland. On the EcoCar-Stand the Swiss Federal Office of Energy presents its Energy Etiquette with the focus on the energy efficiency of cars.
